A step by step breakdown of our custom jewelry creation process. This includes designs we create with you from scratch, and pieces designed using family heirloom elements.

Design Exploration and General Pricing: Getting to know our customers is one of the keys to our custom design process. It’s important to learn about our customers’ style and hobbies so we may create and design a piece of jewelry as special as they are unique. Together we will explore various design inspirations and details. We’ll also make sure we’re on the same page as far as a budget and timeline.

Once we have an idea of the design direction, we officially start the design process. This may include, but is not limited to: picking out or sourcing stones, discussing and comparing metals or gemstones, and figuring out the do’s and don’ts for the design. A general price quote will be given based on the proposed design and predicted materials and labor required. In most cases customers will be charged a non-refundable CAD (computer aided design) fee or a partial payment will be required as a deposit for the piece. If applicable, we will create CAD rendered images to show what the proposed design would look like finished.

After the design is approved, an official price quote will be given based on more exact estimation of labor and materials. If needed, we will 3D print a prototype, but in many cases this is not needed. Most pieces will require about 4-6 weeks after CAD approval for casting, stone setting, and finishing details. Regardless of any problems or delays (which are rare), customers will be notified and updated throughout the design and production process.

Detailed Review, Photography, and Appraisal: Lastly, we do a final quality check and review of details for the custom piece. It is at this time that we will photograph and write an insurance appraisal (if applicable). Final payment must be paid in full before delivery. In many cases, insured shipping is complimentary. Although custom creations are non-returnable and non-refundable, we guarantee our work, and are happy to repair any manufacturing defects if they arise, free of chage, within the first 60 days.
